Kuala Lumpur is preparing to host the 3rd Annual Women in Tech (WiT) APAC Summit and Awards on October 8 and 9, 2024. This year’s summit, organised by the Women in Tech Global movement, aims to bring together innovators, thought leaders, and changemakers from the Asia-Pacific area. The summit, held at the Central Bank of Malaysia, a prominent venue, seeks to inspire and empower women in the technology sector through an engaging program.

Participants may anticipate a range of stimulating courses designed for various skill levels and interests, emphasising complex problem solving and promoting collaboration through advanced peer-to-peer sessions. This year’s distinctive feature is the Oxford-style debate, enabling participants to thoroughly explore critical issues, exchange important perspectives, and work on establishing shared initiatives. This participatory style facilitates information exchange and motivates participants to create a roadmap that fosters accountability and creativity within their businesses and communities.

The summit functions as an essential forum for tackling the obstacles women encounter in technology while also honouring their significant accomplishments. The event features a varied array of speakers and facilitators, intending to motivate participants to pursue audacious career advancements and effectuate significant contributions to the technology sector. This year’s program highlights empowerment and the significance of fostering a supportive environment among women in technology.

The event’s focal point will be the Awards Gala dinner on the second evening, which will celebrate the exceptional accomplishments of women in many technology fields. We will acknowledge the recipients of the WIT APAC Awards for their accomplishments and innovations, both at the regional level and as nominees for the WIT Global Awards. This designation enhances their visibility on a global platform, acknowledging their diligence and commitment.

This year, the awards will encompass many dynamic categories that represent the changing technological world and the remarkable accomplishments of women. Categories include the Aspiring Teen Award for emerging talent, the Most Disruptive Award sponsored by Amazon, and the Best Ally Award, which recognises individuals who support and advocate for women in technology. The Most Impactful Initiative Award, sponsored by CelcomDigi, will emphasise efforts that effect substantial change, while additional categories will acknowledge contributions to decentralised technology, tech diplomacy, sustainable business practices, and exemplary leadership.

As the summit nears, enthusiasm is escalating within the technology sector. The Women in Tech APAC Awards not only recognise accomplishments but also cultivate connections among women in technology, facilitating future partnerships and breakthroughs. Participate in the Women in Tech APAC Summit and Awards in Kuala Lumpur to honor women’s power, inventiveness, and resilience in technology. Let us collectively empower the forthcoming generation of leaders and innovators.
